What LumaSync is
LumaSync is an app for keeping a menstrual cycle calendar and logging how you feel. It shows a period prediction with a range of uncertainty, a daily log, cycle insights and reminders. It is free and has no ads.
What LumaSync is not
The app is not a medical device, does not diagnose and is not a method of contraception. Predictions of your period, ovulation and fertile days are estimates based on your logs and research on cycles, shown with a range of uncertainty. Do not rely on them to prevent pregnancy. In pregnancy mode, the week of pregnancy and the due date are counted from the date of your last period; your doctor or midwife sets the gestational age and due date. For health questions, talk to a doctor.
Requirements
You need a phone with an up to date version of iOS or Android. The app works without an account and without internet access; a connection is needed to open educational articles and, if you create the optional account, to sync the backup and to share your cycle with someone close.
Agreement
The agreement to use the app starts when you first open it and has no fixed term. You can end it at any time by deleting the app; you can export your data before you do. The agreement to use the account starts when you create it; you end it by deleting the account in the app.
Using the app
The app is intended for people aged 18 and over. You enter and keep your data on your own phone and you are responsible for backing it up, for example by exporting a file or with the account and cloud backup.
Account and cloud backup
The account is optional and free. You create it by signing in with Apple or Google, and you can delete it in the app at any time, which deletes the backup from the server. The backup is encrypted with a key only you have: if you lose all your phones and your recovery code, the backup cannot be restored and we cannot help with that. An account that no phone has used for 13 months is deleted together with its backup.
Sharing your cycle with someone close
With an account, you can send someone close an invitation to view your cycle. The link works for 48 hours and only once, so send it only to the person you want to show your cycle to. You can end the sharing in the app at any time, and the other person can disconnect at any time. The other person uses the view without an account.
